Today we travel to dramatic north Wales, soaking up the Welsh culture and heritage at every turn. Witness castles, mountains and historic industrial sights as we reach Snowdonia National Park, home to the mightiest peaks south of Scotland, and some of Britain’s best hiking and mountain biking tracks. We drive through picturesque Betws-Y-Coed that sits at the junction of three river valleys (the Llugwy, the Conwy and the Lledr) on the verge of the Gwydyr Forest. Our first stop is at Blaenau Ffestiniog, known as the town that ‘roofed the world’ and once the slate capital of Wales. Next we step back in time and enjoy a train journey from Blaneau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog allowing you to experience the magnificent scenery in comfort whilst savouring the romance of gleaming steam engines and carriages. Finally, we visit the coastal town of Llandudno, a popular resort between cliffs known as the Little and Great Ormes, before returning to our hotel.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Today we visit Chester, a former Roman fortress town. The medieval walls can still be seen today and form the most complete circuit around any town or city in England. Other unique features are the Tudor style Rows consisting of half-timbered galleries forming a second row of shops above those at street level. This concludes our tour. Now we head south and back to London sharing memories of the beautiful places visited with newfound friends.
